This is a full-service expedition. All you have to bring is your personal climbing equipment and clothing and some snack food. There will be at least a 1:4 climber to staff ratio. The climbing staff carries all group equipment up the mountain, sets-up the camps, puts in the route, watches over your safety, and climbs with you to the summit.
You are required to carry your personal belongings above base camp, such as clothing, sleeping bag & pad, climbing equipment, and mountain food. Most members hire a local to carry their things to camp 1. This is done on the spot at base camp. If you need assistance above camp 1 you must hire a personal climbing “Sherpa.” If you would like to hire a personal “Sherpa” we must know before June 1st.
Base camp meals are hearty, tasty, and plentiful. For on the mountain we give you a variety of instant and easy-to-cook foods. However, we do not include freeze-dried meals. If you would like, please bring a few of your favorite freeze-dried foods. Be sure to bring any specialty items if you have any dietary restrictions or just foods you enjoy.
Some members choose to rent equipment from us in order to reduce the weight of their checked luggage on the airlines. We have an extensive selection of technical equipment and deliver to base camp.
